You can download links to the most commonly used quality assurance systems from the website of Charities Evaluation Services. You’ll also find resources relating to evaluation and benchmarking.
For an overview of quality assurance, including some tips on how best to implement a system, download Voluntary Action Sheffield’s ‘Quality Assurance’ information sheet’. A number of other useful titles are also available, including guides to business planning, management committees, monitoring and evaluation and data protection.

I have contributed to a publication entitled ‘Valuing Performance: making the case for investing in performance management’. This document, which is published by ACEVO (the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations), is available as a free PDF download from the ACEVO website.

It can’t all be hard work. Even consultants get to play once in a while. Check out some of these links:
When I want to switch off, I fire up my Sonar software and knock out a few tunes with an old friend. Our project goes by the name of evil gods, broken people. You can hear some of our songs on our MySpace site.
If you like reading you’ll love Fantastic Fiction. Especially useful for finding out which other writers and books your favourite authors recommend.
I love this simple but fun water pistol game on Daisy Media’s website. You may be able to tell that it was designed by my new friend Helen, who built this site too.
Discover some new sounds at Morr Music. This idiosyncratic German label was established in 1999 by Thomas Morr. Its output covers the spectrum between electronic and pop, offering songs which meander between the gentle, the breezy and the frankly bizarre. The artwork, by Morr’s friend Jan Kruse, is a big part of what the label is all about and is worth a look even if you don’t like the tunes.
If you would like to suggest a useful or interesting link for the site please let me know via the Get in Touch page.
